Data Center Architect and Engineer

DVC Labs is looking for a rock star Server architect to join our growing team! This is a rare early stage opportunity to develop a scalable cluster architecture to handle millions of clients across multiple datacenters. The candidate will closely work with networking and application engineers, and will be actively involved in the planning, specification and implementation of the entire server application suite.

Responsibilities
The server architect will work closely with the development team to architect and develop the solution as per the company’s business objectives. The responsibilities will include the following:
1. Server side architecture and development framework
2. Design and develop the distributed server and cluster technology required to scale up the services to handle massive client volume
3. Selection and integration of open source components and libraries, third party tool selection for rapid application development
4. Utilize and evangelize best of breed programming techniques including design patterns, re-usable and modular development

Required Skills
1. Demonstrated track record of developing fault tolerant high availability server applications through multiple releases and versions
2. Demonstrated and consistent track record as a significant contributor through the development career
3. Expertise in network programming, caching, fail over strategies and clustering techniques
4. Ability to quickly master new technologies and push the envelope for performance and reliability
5. Defensive coding ability accompanies with strong analytical and problem solving skills
6. In-depth debugging skills; ability to reach out and use team strengths to solve problems
7. Ability to work both independently and in small collaborative teams

Required Experience
At least 5 experience of extensive C/C++ and/or Java development experience. Proven experience in distributed and/or parallel computing. Demonstrable use of object oriented development, application frameworks (design and implementation), memory management, file I/O, network & socket programming, concurrency, multithreading. Strong Windows internals experience. Additional points for experience in media centric applications and systems development, knowledge of audio/video processing and streaming.

Education
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant discipline and experience.
