Senior System Administrator

Position: Senior System Administrator

Job Description

Skyfire is looking for a seasoned Systems Administrator to join our Operations and IT team. The position will focus on datacenter build out and maintenance as well as some corporate IT responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance server tools and scripts for code deployment
• Evaluate and implement server monitoring and analytics
• Performance tuning of servers and datacenter
• Diagnosing datacenter issues and implementing preventative measures against future problems
• Build out new servers and datacenters as we grow
• Assist with corporate IT

Required Skills

• Demonstrated track record of building high-availability datacenters
• Ability to think fast but act deliberately
• Real-time diagnosis of critical service outages
• Desire to learn new things and do great things with a small team
• Ability to work closely with Engineering on service enhancements and outages

Required Experience

• At least 5 years experience of building high-availability datacenters in Microsoft Windows and Linux environments
• Experience with image deployment tools such as Acronis and Kickstart
• Corporate IT experience with Windows imaging
• Experience with virtualization including VMware and Windows virtualization
• Expert level scripting knowledge with Perl, WMI, and Windows automation
• Hands-on experience with database technologies including MySQL and PostGres
• Detailed understanding of monitoring packages including Nagios, Cacti, Microsoft SMS, MOM, systems center

Education: BS in computer science or equivalent experience in information technologies

Compensation: DOE Plus Stock

Location: Mountain View, CA (Downtown-Castro Street)
